Yuan Huitian, graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic University's Master of Fine Arts, is the founder of "HUITIAN". With a focus on natural and Eastern aesthetics, she implicitly integrates Eastern beauty into artefacts, facilitating a better fusion of ancient civilisation and modern life.
Her first encounter with desert was during her studies in Jingdezhen, where she accompanied her teacher to the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, Gansu. She was genuinely amazed by the gifts of nature, and the texture of the sand dunes caught her eyes. During the visit to the caves, not only did the exquisite murals but also the time traces inside the caves, which faded in color yet created a harmonious beauty, impressed her. The sand sea surrounding the Mogao Caves has left an indelible mark in her memory. From then, she discovered that she was always inspired by rock paintings.
The patterns are inspired by the "human-faced fish" and "three-fish" pottery basins from the Yangshao culture's Banpo type. The fish motifs evolved from realistic to simplified and symbolic forms, with their symbolic meaning growing stronger and more beautiful over time.
